A Lifelong Safety Net

Pet Guardianship Program

At Robin's Nest Rescue, we believe the animals who share our lives are family, in every sense of the word. For many guardians, one of the most difficult questions is what would happen to them if the unexpected were to occur. While loved ones are often the first choice, that option isn't always available or practical.

The Pet Guardianship Program is created to offer peace of mind during those moments of uncertainty. Through thoughtful planning and charitable giving, friends of Robin's Nest Rescue ("RNR") may choose to name the sanctuary as a future guardian for their animals, ensuring they are met with familiarity, compassion, and lifelong care if their person is no longer able to provide it. It is a way to honor the bond you share — by knowing they will always have a safe place to land.

While we always encourage identifying a trusted person whenever possible, we understand that life does not always make that easy. Guided by compassion for both animals and those who love them, the board and leadership of RNR have put the following guidelines in place to help support thoughtful planning and giving.

Our Founder & President, Kimber Williams, has long been guided by a deep respect for the powerful and well-documented bond between humans and animals. The scientific benefits of this connection — supporting emotional regulation, healing, and well-being for both animals and people — are a central tenet of RNR's therapeutic programming.

This belief also lies at the heart of our Pet Guardianship Program. The RNR team is deeply committed to ensuring that animals, particularly those who may be vulnerable, displaced, or facing uncertainty, are welcomed into environments rooted in compassion, stability, and lifelong care. At RNR, every decision reflects a commitment to dignity, safety, and honoring the profound relationships animals share with the humans who love them.

In keeping with this philosophy, the following guidelines provide a framework for planning and participation in the Pet Guardianship Program.
